Blog Question 2
Discuss the similarities and differences to the first chapter of the novel. Why do you think the writers/producers made those changes?
Some similarities in this video to the first chapter of the novel are
* The kids are stranded on an island
* the boys find a conch
* The kids use that conch to gather people
* Some of the kids are wandering around the island like Ralph, Jack, and Simon did.
Some differences in this video to the first chapter of the novel are
* They're on a school bus and it's taken a shore
* The kids aren't all boys
* When searching the island they don't have to jump a gap in the cliff.
* it doesnt show the kids before their on the shore
I think the writers/producers made these changes to make the show more interesting adn appealing to the audience.

Blog Question 1
What images shocked or bothered you the most? What is your reaction to the more recent stereotypes? Have we changed? Can you find any other stereotypes that impact your age group?
The images that shocked me the most from this video would be the picture for the Play Station Portable in white. This shocked me the most because it was showing the white over powering the black and it has the white upfront and the largest while the black is the back ground and theres only a small picture visible.
My reaction to the more recent stereotypes were, not shock but mroe realization. Seeing those pictures in this video made me realize racism is everywhere, I never noticed before that the black athletes were always portrade as angry and frightening where as the caucasian male athletes as calm and relaxed.
In my opinion, we haven't changed on bit. We've only become stealthier. The companies are better at hiding the racsim behind other things. In the past we were more upfront about it.
I find a big stereotype that impacts our age group would be in movies, how the black teenage boys are always in gangs, get into trouble, are poor and come from bad homes, where as the white teenage boys are always athletic,good, attend school and rich.
